Time for an update...

But first, a recap with some particulars.

I bought my house in November 2012. My initial policy was slightly under $2800. I got my renewal in the fall of 2013 and it showed a rate increase to just under $3200. I shopped around and was able to stay with the same company (American Integrity) through a different agent and come in slightly under $2500.

Now, back to the update... I just got my renewal and it's going down $423, and before anyone asks - there are no coverage changes.

And down we go again... Just got my renewal and the new rate is $1749.

I'm paying $1000 less than four short years ago.

Isn't $1749 quite high? flood, hurricane?

Considering I started at $2800, no.

Coverage is still the same. My credit score is outstanding, it was at the low end of good four years ago. I can't help but wonder how much of a factor that is regarding the decrease.

Probably a great deal.

At least for automotive insurance, credit score is a valid indicator of the potential for claims. Knowing the insurance companies and their penchant for data analysis, I have to believe this would affect homeowner's insurance as well.

Well, ok.... flood, hurricane, how old or new is the house, is it on the water? The # is very high if you're living in a condo in Orlando.
