Hi, I am interested in moving to Tampa bay. I live on long island/. Its very expensive here. I went back to school and am a Medical assistant and EKG tech. Just wondering how the job market looks there? Also how is the singles scene in Tampa. I am in my 40s. Any areas or places to meet people down there?
Thank You so much.

It sounds like you're making a good choice, but I'd visit the area and check it out first.

Sure, come on down. This is like NYC-south. You'll feel right at home.

As BucFan has said, COME ON DOWN!

Steinbrenner Field needs another New Yorker during Spring Training!

You have a good skill set so that should help. Single scene for someone in their 40's ... not sure. If I was to go out tonight to meet people, I would probably head for some of the 'Chain Restaurants' like Chili's, Applebee's, or places like that.

If you get out there and aren't a creep, a slop, loud and obnoxious, meeting people should be easy. If you are a Perv or something like that ... probably not so much success.

Absolutely not, unless you are of the poorer variety.

Gulfer, you don't strike me as being looking for cheap places!

Lots of NY people down here so you feel at home right away, regardless of being a NY Yankee fan or not.

You will probably feel even richer with the prices you will pay at the pump, for groceries, etc. and best of all "no income taxes"!

I can't speak to the single's seen, but I can confirm, without a doubt, you are in a perfect line of work for here. Employment should not an issue for you at all in any way.

The medical field has a higher demand here. They don't call it heaven's waiting room for nothing - LOL, just kidding. You should probably look at the pay scale though. I've had Med Techs tell me they had a hard time making a living on their pay.

Hmmm...not sure where the cheaper side of things came from. I just know whenever I am in these places they usually have a few people in there 30's and 40's sitting at the bar having something to eat and drink.

Any good looking women? Perhaps I am missing out!

I never really considered chain places like this places to meet people. I was under the impression people only did that in smaller towns where there was nothing else around.
