I am relocating to the Tampa area for a my job which will be located in Brandon. I am leaning towards South Tampa area/Hyde Park area but am open to other neighborhoods. I am a 30 yr professional with 2 small animals so I would like to feel somewhat safe at night walking my dog. I am looking to stay right around $1000/mo for rent and am open to 1 or 2 bedrooms. I would prefer a townhouse, condo or house as I don't LOVE the apartment setting.

Any suggestions as far as places? I'm not looking to commute more than 25 mins.

I can't wait to move and get back to the Sunshine State...this "winter" stuff is for the birds!!

Gaspar Properties
Versaggi Properties
Urette & Associates
McKinley

These are 4 of the better known companies that can assist you.

I also work for a company here in Hyde Park, I am the office manager, however we do not accept dogs so I won't be able to help you on that.

You can also try Post at Hyde Park.

Those are all apartments but they are not garden style communities. Most of these are courtyard style, small and quaint. Historic units.

You can try craigslist, Trulia, Hotpads, and Zillow but the best way to find a rental here is by driving around.

Hyde Park. Found my place there on Hotpads. It's within your price range (for a 1 BR) and commute time. You will fit right in...
