I saw the funniest thing today. I was driving over the Howard Frankland Bridge this morning and noticed a budget moving truck passing me. It had an out of state license and a flat rooftop. As it passed by I saw the rooftop covered with snow. I had to look twice to understand what my eyes were seeing. Lots of snow on top of this truck. It had to be coming from out of state and the sun had not been warm enough to melt the snow yet. Wow I have not seen snow in florida since 1977!! Gave a chuckle to my day.

I was just saying last night that I wish it would snow here! I would just LOVE to see the chaos that would come from it. I'm in northern Tampa, close to Pasco so it could happen on our chilly nights, but it hasn't yet. I used to live in New England (22 years in MA, 6 in CT) and snow was so normal in the winter. 6 inches... nothing is closed. Here, an inch would shut down the city!

I am up in Akron Ohio this week for work. Was -11 this morning. Although they closed a few schools, it was basically business as normal. They do have thier stuff together when it comes to de icing roads and clearing snow.

And a tropical storm or hurricane would shut down most of the Northeast. Wait, it did.. never mind.

One day Tampa Bay will be shut down by a hurricane. Don't pretend we are anymore prepared for a disaster than the NE.

I seem to remember some years back we and ice on the roads. That was a hoot to watch people driving on ice for the first time on the news channels .
