The rich neighborhoods, more often than not, would not tip much if anything.

It's the same for servers too. I've known servers at Denny's and Perkins who made much more than when they worked at places like Carrabbas and Bonefish Grill.
Yeah, that seems counter intuitive to me, but I do think there is a faster turn over rate at those restaurants (OG, Dennys, etc) because they always seem to be packed, so while you would be getting less you would get it more times per shift. I am also conflicted about the whole pizza delivery, I do 15% but I always feel like I am getting ripped because they charge a delivery fee so it seems to me pay the delivery guy.

I agree, having worked many years as a waiter myself ranging from a very busy Deli to Fine Dining at the Ritz Carlton. While I made more working for Ritz Carlton (not a lot more), previous employment with mid-range dining establishments on most occasions (dinner shifts) were not as lucrative as the Deli (Toojay's) where I worked primarily just 4 to 5 hour lunch shifts. Getting back to the OP, there was quite a bit of critique of working for Olive Garden. Perhaps they like it there and supposedly the company is good to it's employees, especially when it comes to transferring to other locations which in this economy is quite the perk. As pointed out, the two locations in the northern section of the county will provide a higher salary base than other parts of the county, despite the inaccurate theory presented that people with higher salaries don't eat there.
