Yellow/Green pollen started today. Noticed it in the road gutters after a light shower. Seems light now, but I am sure it will increase with the alternating few days of rain and sunny warm weather we are having.

How long does this pollen season usually last?

Any relief for early risers, or overnight?

Unseen pollen has been flying for the past 4-6 weeks (Oak, Juniper, Cedar, Maple). My sinuses are working overtime!

Me too....

The Oak tree pollen bothers me very badly every year....

I live right by the coast so it is better than being inland, however it still requires me to "by stock" in Claritin for at least 2 months every year!

I agree, I have noticed as well. The pollen seems extremely early this year, perhaps because we haven't had a hard freeze...??? Last week we had levels of 9 and 10 on Pollen.com which doesn't normally begin to happen until two weeks or more from now.

Seems to last longer here, but the effects are much less than other places I have lived like North Carolina where I was devastated by allergies every year. It was pure hell. Here I find on the days it starts to bother me I just pop one four hour Chlortab and I am set for the day and no sleepy effects. We live only 3.5 miles from the coast and have a large lake in between, so we get very little pollen compared to more landlocked locations. Even though I see it now, it has yet to bother me and we have had our sliders open except on the colder days like days. Of course every person is different. Our son's allergies have disappeared here.

I agree it can tend to last longer here, but we have much lower pollen levels for most of that time as well. In places further north it tends to be time concentrated where the pollen seems to literally explode at once. Here since we don't get the long, hard freezes the pollen release is much more gradual. And the closer one lives to the coast the better, as the pollen tends to get blown more inland from the ocean/gulf breezes.
