I am looking to relocate to the Tampa area and I'm currently looking at the different areas to move too. New Tampa and the Brandon area keep popping up as nice areas and I would be curious of the general opinions of the good and bad neighborhoods in Tampa I'm not familier with this area I'm just looking to start my life over as currently I'm "in between jobs".
Ideally I would like to rent a condo between 750-800.00 per month and north Tampa seems nice thanks.

Brandon is great if you like atrocious traffic and every franchise restaurant chain known to mankind. When I'm forced to go to Brandon, I feel like I'm traveling through a television script for a living in suburbia sitcom.

In that price range, you'll find a few options for a one bedroom apartment in Brandon, in a wood-framed building built for rental use; definitely not a condo. You'll find very few options in that price range in the New Tampa area.

Were you looking at either area due to access to interstate for employment reasons?

What kinds of things do you like to do? Perhaps another area of Hillsborough would be better.

I'm just looking for a relatively safe livable area hopefully with some good biking areas. I did find a condo-ish in new Tampa for 775.00 it looks like it was formally apartments that were converted into condos but looking at the reviews for the apartments that they were it does not look like they got to many complaints.
I'm going to be contacting a realtor tomorrow. My work options are open I guess..I worked in a call center for years but I want to do something totally different. I can go with an apartment but I am so sick of apartment living..but hey ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

About the best biking you'll get in new tampa, aka Tampa Palms, is this:

It's actually not bad at all, just wish there was more.

Any option of living in Pinellas? They have the Pinellas Trail which is a 38 mile long bike ride.
