Wait, what? Were you living in Manhattan? You certainly don't need 100K to live comfortably in Queens, SI and parts of Brooklyn

Yes you do. Everywhere in NYC you live is $$ $$$ and more $$$. Lets start by saying how much is a single ride of the NYC train to Manhattan from Queens,Bronx or Brooklyn. Then come the rest..... its just a hasle. NYC=Nightmare, very but very clear.

You know that, I know that. I'm not going to bother to respond to such a ridiculous comment as to the cost of living in NYC.

The $112 monthly unlimited metro card is so much more expensive than the cost of ownership of your car?. The 8 million people who live in the city all must be rich or miserable. Not to mention the people that move there at a rate 10x than Tampa. If the city chewed you up and spat you out, sorry that happens. I get this thread doesn't really belong in the Tampa forum but let's not turn it into a bash NYC thread.

? My car cost much more than $112 a month. Seriously - between gas, insurance, the car, tires, repairs if need be...

I was going to say something, but wasn't sure if the poster was being sarcastic.

Less than $200 and you can be back! Priceline is an amazing tool.

Just filled up tank and it was $50.00. That'll be gone in less than a week. hmm… 50 x 4 = ?

Don't do it lol. I am a NYer (Queens born & raised ) that recently moved back to NY (SI) after being down in Central Florida for 3 years. I missed my HOME so bad that I uprooted my family up here a little less than a year ago. I for one have been miserable! After living down there with that laid back lifestyle this place is pure evil haha. Between the cost of living, traffic, tolls, potholes, and miserable winter I cannot wait to move back to the sunshine state! And you can bet I will be back this summer! I have small children and what they come home and tell me about other kids is unreal especially in elementary school! The kids are animals here compared to the kids down there. You see its all the nostalgia that brought me back but once that was over I remembered why I left in the first place! I'm not the only one either! Florida will always be a NYers second home and for this NYer it will definitely be home for good next time! Best of luck with your decision, You might just be like I was and need to see things for yourself to realize the mistake it really was!
