What's the time frame a newly relocated person has spent looking and landing a job? General question, all though I'm seeking something in the Accounting field. Thanks for any feedback

I can't help you on timeframe but I read one of your other posts that you're from Tallahassee (one of my best friends lives there). Anyway, if you have an accounting degree, I would think that could open up many doors for you depending on what you are willing to do.

My old department where I work hired someone who has an accounting degree but he basically grew into the position as it was beyond accounting and now he's a senior analyst in less than a year - lots of ad-hoc reporting, analysis, forecasting ,etc. If you like numbers, I'd say reach for the stars because you never know!

I moved here last June and actively started looking for a job in July. We moved here because my husband was offered a position. I started working mid September. I however took job hunting insanely serious. Basically looking for a job was a full time job and I probably interviewed 2 dozen times before I landed my current job. I was a 911 dispatcher for ten years and knew I wanted to get away from shift work. I applied for everything and anything and tweeked my resume to suite each position. I am currently working in Aviation Fuel Logistics. Its all about how bad you want it and are you willing to go all in.

I would disagree. Everybody wants it. It's really all about your education and skill set. That will determine how fast and how lucrative your employment is.

Everyone may want it, but not everyone puts 100% into it. All I am saying is the more aggressive you are in your job hunt the better your chances will be. Don't give up and apply to everything. I never thought I would be considered for my current position but here I am.
