Well i have to check into it, if i could even get 40k for my house i would sell it. On my last prop tax bill it was 28k. I don't know of any 3 bedroom house up front. I just checked the addys and they are not in the front. This a 3 phase hood, with the oldest smaller homes up front, mixed with mid size in the middle and the bigger 3 story in the back.

But i will check into the prices as i will sell out if they have gone up that much since i last checked in 09.

I'm so happy for many home owners in flood zones that finally here is some positive news. Most people will agree that if you don't live a flood zone you don't want to pay for others who choose to live in a flood zone but to get hid overnight with a huge increase isn't fair either.

Not overnight, they have been talking about it for years, not to mention its gradual for people already in their houses the only people it would impact right away would be new homebuyers.

You are right but the huge increases were coming down like it is was an overnight thing for most people. Most of the people don't realize that others have been paying into the system for them and they shouldn't be paying for others.

Sooner than later people will live over there who can afford it and some homes maybe be demolished and rebuild higher up to avoid flooding and higher fees.

It will create an entire different population over the next decades and different kind of styles of homes near the beaches.
