So much for someone putting stock in a forcaster as he posted yesterday we would return to a southeast flow today. The good old reverse west windflow is locked in tight. Been flooding 20 miles offshore for hours doing the grouper and grunts some good.

Wa wa where is that southeast windflow the forcasters were talking about. Just look at the radar at this time 3:11pm and look at all the rain well east of the Tampa area moving toward the east coast. Like i said Sat don't bet the bank on us getting into a southeast windflow anytime soon.

Anyone see all that rain that was around 20 miles offshore this AM from 3 till around 10am? Anyone notice how it died off once it got within a few miles of the beach? Anyone know why it died off? Thanks to cooled air from the cooler land mass compared to the much warmer gulf water is just killed off them T- storms and they went POOF!

Thank God we had clouds till around 12 today, thanks to blow offs from the tops of the storms that were in the gulf this AM. Now it is solid sunshine and not a chance of any rain for me today. As you can see in the pic the bulk of the core heavy rain is well east of Tampa and moving away. Sometimes even with a reverse west windflow you will get some outflow from these storms and some will rebuild to the west. Not move toward the west but REBUILD to the west as i don't want to confuse anyone. And sometimes we will get a shadow burst of showers popping up around the bay and moving toward the east later in the day, like we are seeing now.

So, if the infamous 'reverse west wind flow' which simply means "winds from the west" is normal what is the big deal about it where it has to be mentioned constantly?

Who cares where the wind blows from and/or how much it rains in any particular location? If it's windy, its windy. If it rains, it rains.

All the forcasters on our local new chans say the southeast windflow is normal and we are only in a reverse west windflow 25% of the summer, and that is not the case. The southeast windflow used to be our normal windflow until around the mid 80's. Since then we have seen a west wind 75 to 87% of our summers, so i am here to debunk the BS and try to teach people how our weather really works and not to take stock in these so called Q- card readers we see on our local news. One member here will do his best to make people think i am wrong. I have lived, eaten and slept weather 24/7 since i was around 16.

As predicted, some good storms are building west now. Had some rain this morning, but what is building now is much more impressive.

Great so the wind direction changed (the majority of the time). That's life.

The weather people seem to tell me where the wind is coming from at a particular moment and what they think the wind will be the next day.

It is what it is.

I am not talking just about wind. I mean windflow, that will control who gets a better chance of rain, be it on our coast, inland or the east coast. As i said a few hours ago, you can see the storms building back toward the west coast on the radar now. A few lucky peeps will see rain and i won't get a drop again.

Well I guess they do know what they are talking about, as the storms are here now.
