Some dumb engineer or road architect came up with the dumbest idea to make a 3 lane road and than just before the traffic light to turn left onto Curley road the 3 lane road became a 2 lane road for a few yards and directly thereafter it turned into a 3 lane again.

I don't think anyone has figured out why this was done and it will be funny to hear any explanation that makes sense other than someone can say it made some people have a few more hours of work and getting paid to fix it to what it should have been.

Due to the lack of driving skills or a lot of drivers combined with that stupid idea it caused a lot of traffic jams since it seems a lot of drivers have never learned how to use the zipper model to flow fluently into one line without having to stop and having 2 lanes merge. That caused many almost car crashes and perhaps real accident and traffic backed up daily.

Today was the first time I noticed (it may have happened yesterday or the day before) that finally the stupid poles had been removed and the left lane keeps going straight as it should have been from the start to turn into the left turn lane onto Curley road.

How smart does someone have to be to figure out that was the way to go.

But anyway I'm glad that finally it is done but it is sad that a beautiful piece of concrete now looks like an old piece of road since it was damaged by the poles and stripes that were placed on it for NOTHING!!!

I think realtors need to take care of roadway design from now on LOL jk

Public workshops for upcoming roadway projects are something people need to attend. This is the perfect time to see what is planned and ask why it's planned this way, voice your concerns and so on. There is a chain of people to approve any roadway design, so it couldn't be one person's mistake. There are answers for all questions. Last public workshop I was at had 10 local people attending... no wonder people will be rolling their eyes and comment they knew better how to do this and this next year...

I'm guilty of not attending and I never expected anyone to be so stupid to make that road as it was made...the confusion by literally every driver driving that road the first time showed how stupid it was.

We all expect people like that to have common sense but you are right we should attend, especially after this experience but I always have the feeling that it doesn't matter and it is already decided.

Well, nothing is decided and public input matters. Public disagreement can easily kill the project as well. I have examples of these projects both on county level and FDOT level. I would suggest to attend public workshops/ public meetings for projects in the area you live to know what (and why) is going on certain way.

It's too funny to read your complaints because you clearly have no knowledge what it takes to design/construct the road and think all engineers (state level engineers by the way) are "stupid" and you know better. But you are not even attending public meetings in the first place and even think public input doesn't matter.

After reading your posts in Pasco Elevated Rd thread when you was under impression the project is current and under way (when it's at least 10 years away and still in preliminary phase - study) and threads like this one - //www.city-data.com/forum/tampa...-begin-st.html I am 100% positive you need to educate yourself and maybe even became an engineer

I've found that, if you read through the poster's recent threads, things become very telling.

I believe that one of the best things in life is to know yourself and know what you good at, not so good and what you are great at.

Certain things you better leaf to others and some people always claim to know it all...they usually fail!
