Okay, was in Tampa this past weekend looking for a place to live. Nice weather, by the way. One of the places was that big new fancy development called the Lodge at Lakecrest at the above address, which they're still working on. Really nice apartments - kind of pricey.

Anyway, we first saw a couple of places in Carrollwood. LOVED the area. Homey kind of feel to it - sense of community, etc.

The North MckKinley Ave. address is very very nice but the immediate surrounding community (Busch Gardens, USF), didn't feel that way. Pretty industrial kind of feel. My realtor sent me an article about the area - that it's being substantially developed, big things planned.

Can I have some opinions on the area? It's pretty much between Carrollwood and that complex, which were it not for the incredibly nice apts. would not even consider the area. Just looking for some general thoughts....

Thanks.

Wow, how interesting they built a really nice looking aprtment community on the site of what was once a metal can manuafacturing site...that area must have been rezoned, as it was once a large industrial park. You can walk to Busch Gardens, bike to USF..Fowler Ave east is nice, as well as Temple Terrace area. Busch Blvd area can be a bit transiant, that is to the south of you.
Im not sure what is planned for the area, I believe the Yuengling Brewery is still there.

Are you going to school or working at USF? In my opinion, Carrollwood offers a more suburban feel, with more amenities in the area.
