Ok. I lived in Brandon (Crosswynde Condominiums off 301 and Crosstown Expressway) from Summer 2008 - Summer 2009. I am a legal assistant and was laid off. During that time, it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to get a job so I headed back to Hollywood, FL.

I have since then bought a house, my children are older and graduating high school soon, and I have remarried. My husband is disabled (he's 44) and on a very small monthly income. I, again, am a legal assistant (I'm 36) and I work full time. Therefore, I have the following questions

1. As we are considering moving into a mobile home, what would be a good mobile home (obviously not 55+) for us that is:

a. Close or easily accessible to Downtown Tampa;
b. Close to Spanish-speaking clinics (he feels more comfortable with a Spanish-speaking doctor);
c. Close to a hospital since he has to go more often than most (and we live very close to one now);
d. Maybe close to Brandon as we like that area (we saw River Bay mobile home park last
weekend when we were up there).

Any information would be GREATLY appreciated THANK YOU!!!

With your husband's disability, you may be able to get into a 55+ park (esp, if the kids are going to college/living somewhere else). That may open some places that are close to hospitals/clinics, etc.

Ask, different parks have different rules. They do have some younger people living in parks, most are disabled.

That may limit your kids' options for summer breaks or returning to the nest. So carefully ask questions about the rules.

Craigslist is a good place to see what is out there... I rather like their map feature... so you can see where the rental is located. I also used Trulia..and expand your search... I found several mobile homes that were listed in the wrong category.

Good luck!
