My fiance and I are looking to relocate in Tampa. He currently lives in the Brandon area. We want a single family home and to be close to downtown and the beaches. We're young and would like to live in a younger neighborhood. Any suggestions of where to look?

"Single family home, close to downtown Tampa, young couple in a younger neighborhood"..i'd look into South Tampa areas....All kinds of homes ranging from 170's to the millions. Look at zillow.com for zip codes 33606,33609,33629,33611,33616.

Bay beaches will be minutes away(Davis Islands, Picnic Island, Cypress Point, Gandy Beach, Ben T Davis), Gulf beaches will be about 30-35 minutes.

I agree with Tampaguy. South tampa has good restaurants and some areas you can walk to restaurants and shops. If you are in to nightlife, you can have it there too. All types of housing and apts. Only a few iffy areas and they are pretty obvious.

I remember driving thru a section called Carrollwood I believe. We went North on Dale Mabry. Seems to be a nice area with conveniences!

Carrollwood isn't by the beaches and isn't a young neighborhood though. I also agree with the South Tampa suggestion.
