Looks like fun.. I checked out the link and went to the Gulfport Gecko Website. Is there public parking lots out there or is it just first come first served on the street?

If you go to the very bottom of the the page, GeckoFest | Gulfport GeckoFest you will see a map of town and the route of the free trolley; there are places to park near the trolley stops.

Kudos to Pinellas County and to Gulfport. While doing our usual April week in St. Pete for the Blues Festival, we decided to hit the Gulfport Faerie Festival. I am quite familiar with Pinellas County, but was never aware of Gulfport. Gulfporter's obvious affection for the area convinced us to explore her neck of the woods. We got our day pass for the PTSA, used the PTSA website to find our route, took the Looper to the Saturday Market at Progress, walked 2 blocks to the bus stop, rode to Gulfport, took the free Trolly and rode the whole route to get a feel for Gulfport, got off at the Festival, had a blast, hopped on the Trolley to the old Casino, explored the area on foot, had a drink at O'Maddy's, and at the end of the day, was back downtown at the Red Mesa Cantina for dinner. All for under $5.00 a person for transportation. Absolutely awesome. Gulfport's free Trolly for certain events is a great idea. It gave us a chance to get familiar with some of what Gulfport has to offer, support the local stores, and entices us to come back. Would LOVE to do the Gecko Fest, but already have plans. I can definitely understand Gulfporter's affinity for the town. Quite the gem.

We went to GeckoFest last year and had a great time. It really showcases what a nice community Gulfport is and I enjoyed seeing the royal poinciana trees growing there, as well.
