I was affected by a road range incident last night on our way from the Airport.

I got the make/model and license plate # and reported to FHP and highway patrol said they would investigate but am still worried that this person got away with causing an (almost) accident.

What else could I have done or How can I find the driver details so at-least I can file a civil case so they know this behavior is not tolerated in our society ?

I appreciate everyone on CD chiming in but I ask that you please stick to the topic in your response.

"Almost" causing an accident isn't grounds for a lawsuit. A civil suit seeks damages and you don't have any, it seems.

Reporting it to FHP was the right thing to do. Let them handle it.

Do you have a video like this lady?

"Redneck Road Rage" Video Leads to Florida Man's Arrest - YouTube

But you ask how to report it. Seems like you did and answered your own question (FHP).

Notifying FHP is the most effective thing to do. Though if they pull that driver over for some violation they cant pin road rage on them since the incident would have already been over. You cant file a civil suit unless you have damages to recover.

If everyone will report "almost caused accident" there will be too much work for FHP. But I wish I could report people who are texting while driving, it's annoying.

is that road rage? road rage is when you're chasing someone down, isn't it?

Edit:

nevermind....per wiki, it consists of a lot of things:

Road rage is aggressive or angry behavior by a driver of an automobile or other road vehicle. Such behavior might include rude gestures, verbal insults, deliberately driving in an unsafe or threatening manner, or making threats. Road rage can lead to altercations, assaults, and collisions that result in injuries and even deaths. It can be thought of as an extreme case of aggressive driving.

Not sure how the OP thought they could bring a civil case. If it were that easy everyone would pick a random car and bring a case on them.
