Rented a car from enterprise davenport . Drove 14 miles to work on friday 09/12/14. Once i arrived and had turned the engine off i discovered a very young kitten had made the 14 mile trip with me under the hood of my car resting next to the engine. After notifying enterprise's road side service for a tow back to the rental location at the full service ford dealer ship in davenport i waited over 3hrs for a tow to arrive. In that time i heard the kitten several times (sounded like a mouse in a wall) only these noises were coming from the back of the dash board at the defroster vents. The car was towed to the davenport location at the jarrett ford dealership at 2600 n.w. Access rd. Sean the enterprise mgr for the location and james a service department rep. For ford both heard the same sounds i heard, (while i waited over 3hrs. For a tow),and both said "there is definatly somthing in there". However sean (the mgr of the location) insisted that he had no authority to have the mechanics at the dealership remove the dash board to rescue the kitten instead he would only allow the mechanics to remove parts from the dash which enterprise would not have to pay to have removed. The kitten was never rescued and as of today 09/16/14 i can not get anyone at enterprise to help or to even let me know what if anything they plan to do. Once this kitten dies if not already dead they will have to remove the dash board any way why couldn't they have done the humane thing

TV/newspapers would be all over a story like this.

I find it hard to believe that no one at the dealership got the cat out, that's the kind of unusual thing that would spread across their shop, out of all the people on that shop no one said Ill do it.

It takes like 2 or 3 days to take a dash off then put it back on. It doesn't just snap off like a lego toy.

But yes OP, you would probably have more luck notifying a news station than an online forum.

OP, please follow up on this. I dropped my Enterprise car off this afternoon before catching a flight. If this story is true that will be the last time I use them unless they make some major changes. Please provide some proof that this really took place.

Was it in the dash or next to the engine? The difference is huge.

If it is dead, they will get wind of it.

It is hard to envision Enterprise putting it in wherever it was.

I once has a friends kids pet snake get loose in a car. I had the whole interior out on the ground and never found that *^$#@&* snake.

What you may have heard wasn't a kitty but a field mouse. They have an incredible talent for working their way into the air conditioning plenum box and establishing a nest in there. Many times in cars when you turn on the A/C and hear a rattle, that's the stuff from the nest making an even bigger mess in there. Usually all you need to do is unscrew and remove the bottom of the box to clean it out. It's amazing how much junk the little guys can fit into that space.

seems unfair to post the actual names and location of the managers without the opportunity for either of them to defend their actions on a forum read by thousands of people -
