Received a quote on a new build in Riverview for a $212,000 home with 2% hurricane deductible and $1000.00 non-hurricane for $799.00 Annual Premium. This seems very low to me.

Coverage
Dwelling 212,000
Other 4240
Contents 106,000
Add Living Expenses 21,200
Personal Liability 300,000
Medical Payment 1,000

Coverage Details

120% Extended Replacement on Dwelling
Replacement Cost on Contents
Ordinance or Law Coverage Excluded
Sinkhole no included but catastrophic ground collapse is included
Limited coverage animal liability
Screen encloser & Carport encloser excluded for hurricane damage

How much insurance should be carried on a homes dwelling and what is the going rate for $215K home in Riverview? Are some companies better than others when it comes time you need to them to pay our in the even of a hurricane?

That right there will probably raise your premium by 50% depending where you are. Ask for sinkhole activity coverage and see the difference.

What is the difference between a sinkhole and a catastrophic ground collapse?

The catastrophic coverage is if your house is swallowed by sink hole, which is very rare. The sinkhole activity coverage is for the most common one that doesn't necessary end up swallowing your house. The later one is non mandatory coverage that you should cover yourself. It is expensive since it is the most prevalent one (read high likelihood the insurance company will pay out).
