My family and I may be relocated to the Tampa area, and would appreciate help with finding a nice area to live. My husband will be working in Temple Terrace. We also love the beach and want to be able to get to the Clearwater beach area in a reasonable amount of time. We enjoy golf and outdoor activities.

Also, we have a teenager who is graduating from school this year, and want a neighborhood that is active & youthful, with a mix of local and chain stores/restaurants. But, we are not too concerned about the school district since we won't have any kids left in school.

We have been looking online at some of these towns and would appreciate feedback on them. Thank you!!!

Citrus Park
Carrollwood

Northdale

I'd say Carrollwood. Well established, easy drive to work, downtown, shopping both local and the city's malls, the bay and west to Clearwater for fishing and the beaches. Don't miss Howard Park beach at Tarpon Springs, and for a great meal try Iavarone's in Carrollwood.

Northdale - My house will be up for rent this Spring.

There are lots of activities happening in Northdale. If your kids likes to play basketball there are tons of teens playign on the courts at Northdale Park. Never hear of any crime or anything bad happening there, it's a great group of kids.

There's also the YMCA in Northdale as well. One of the better ones in the area.

The shopping is great, with a lot of national companies with some small local business sprinkled in. A ton of option to choose from for eating. One of the better malls is nearby (Citrus Park Towncenter Mall) and there is easy access to 275 and the Veterans.

Thanks for those quick responses. Realistically, how long is the commute from those towns into Temple Terrace?

Carrollwood and Temple Terrace are only 3 to 4 miles apart. Even in rush hour on Fletcher or Fowler you're talking only 10 - 15 minutes.

The northeastern side of Temple Terrace right near Route 75

What other towns should I consider besides Carrollwood and Northdale?

All 8 locations are great, most are to far from the beach. I would recommend only one in Westchase near the Oldsmar, Fl city in Pinellas County. There is also Safety Harbor, Fl witch is next to Oldsmar, Fl. There is also Palm Harbor, Fl witch is the closest to the beaches and golf.

Keep in mind the cities I wrote about are the only way to get into Tampa without going all the way south to route 60 and then go back north to the same area. alot of wasted driving.

Westchase/Oldsmar area is the best location to live. Google the city maps to see what I am talking about.

I'd suggest Citrus Park or Carrollwood. However, almost all of those areas are 20+ minutes from the nearest beach.
