Hey! So I've been reading up on these boards for the past several months thinking about where to live when I relocate to the area. Clearwater and St. Pete certainly have their appeal, living on or closer to the beach. But as a single male looking to get into the social scene, South Tampa/Hyde Park seems like the best option. Commute isn't an issue since I own my own businesses and work from home. And ideally, I'm looking for something waterfront that's reasonably-priced. Impossible right?! Well, I've found one bldg. from 1924 that appears to be well-maintained, waterfront and right in Hyde Park w/Ciro's restaurant/bar just downstairs...how convenient is that??? And units are just $200k for approx. 1000 SF/1BR. What concerns me is how many of these vacancies have been sitting on the market for several months now. And from what I understand, desirable properties in South Tampa/Hyde Park esp. don't last very long. Is anybody here familiar w/this building and location?! Any ideas from anyone in the area why these units may not be as good as they're looking from a distance/online??? Thx!

I don't know this building, but most of those listings are expensive, except for the last one (828 sq ft, $129K). Also, have you checked out the condo fees? High fees can drive down the market price of a condo.

Because nothing says "exclusive" like living over a bar.
