Sinkholes are much more prevalent in the northern part of the Tampa Bay area. The southern part is pretty safe. If you want to be in the northern part, for some reason the area east of Lake Tarpon is a safe zone (East Lake, Oldsmar, Westchase, etc).

All around Tampa looks like it is a hot spot for sink holes if you look at a map!
Is tarpon springs or new port richey bad?
Is Tampa hotter temp wise then the east side of Florida?
I know Florida is hot, but It seems that if you stay away from inland you will be better off.
But is there a difference east vs west side?

Stay as far away from New Port Richey as you can, for multiple reasons, not the least of which is the fact that is a hotspot for sinkhole activity like the rest of west Pasco.

South of Tampa is low or no risk.

I went to the link but I'm just finding an article - I can't find the actual map - could you clarify that? Thanks for the help.

Is there really not a more detailed map anywhere of where all the sinkholes have occurred or where the risks are?

Wow. Am I seeing things or does it seem like Riverview has had quite a bit of sinkhole activity? Hmm.
