We fly in to tonight for an interview in Tampa. We will be staying in the Hampton in Oldsmar.

Last time, we stayed at a Hampton on Waters. We left the airport, and unknowingly got on the toll road.

Is there a way to get to the Hampton in Oldsmar from the airport without being hit by tolls? Thanks!

From Google Maps:
Take the Florida 589 Toll N/Veterans Expwy ramp to Florida 60 W/Clearwater

Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Florida 589 Toll N/Veterans Expressway

Keep right to continue on Exit 3, follow signs for Memorial Hwy

Turn left onto Memorial Hwy

Turn left onto FL-580 W/W Hillsborough Ave

Yes. From the airport, go west and exit on Memorial. That will take you to SR580 (also known as Hillsborough Rd and Tampa Rd) and go West to Oldsmar. I don't know the address of the hotel or I could give better directions. You could also do a Bing Map search, click on options and put a checkmark into avoid tolls.

You will be warned clearly "Last exit before toll"

Exist there and follow the road until you hit Hillsborough Ave. and left in it--that's it.

It is really easy, you won't get lost.

Good luck with the interview!

There is no portion of the Veterans through Tampa that is $5.00. Outside of that, the Veterans connects to Memorial before becoming a toll road. Stay in the left hand lanes and you'll be fine.

Rental car places charge "administrative fees" for each time you go through a toll. I didn't know it either and was charged an outstanding $30+ for going through like 4 or 5 tolls.
