(West Largo) West of Walsingham park to Belleair Bluffs, east/west of Indian Rocks Rd, down to Millenium Park is not mostly upscale? You'll be hard pressed to find any bad areas. It's mostly unincorporated Pinellas, some of it falls into Seminole. Do you know the area? Probably not.

Agreed, it's really annoying. Seems like people on the Florida forums can't bear to hear that somebody actually dislikes anything at all about the state.

I've heard of the Cabrini Green area in Chicago as being one of the most dangerous in the US. Does that make Chicago a ghetto? Maybe it is.. we should call it Chighetto..

There are no classy areas? Did you really get to know the area or you stayed glued in your apartment?

The reason you don't witness racial tensions in Denver is because pot is legal. Everyone is .. well you get the idea.

I think we have different opinions of "upscale" here. An apartment complex with a fountain in a man-made lake doesn't make it upscale.

Anyway I am not going to argue it, I side with the OP that my experience in Pinellas county working there for a year, was the same. I don't see the allure at all.

Huh? The area around what was Cabrini is now multi-million dollar homes and upscale condos. You won't find anything close to it in Florida except parts of Miami Beach. Kids who have never been there and are just sipping a juice box playing on their parents computer wouldn't know this.

Then it would make mostly not Largo. At any rate, I Am not an expert on Largo, I am not saying it's all strip joints and trailer parks, but I hear larghetto waaay more often than upscale, like 100 to none or 100 to 1 if I count your comment.

If you only stayed 1 year in the area you shouldn't really be talking. It's impossible to see everything and form a proper opinion.

There are a few row houses left that sit in the shadows of upscale condos in one of Chicago's most expensive neighborhoods-River North. Look at the houses between W. Superior & W. Huron two blocks away.
