Tampa Bay (especially Tampa) is flat out loaded with great restaurants...anyone who says otherwise is wrong. The Refinery looks particularly interesting.

Now that I have my reclining wheelchair and van to transport it, I am so excited to get out once in a while to enjoy all the awesome eateries we have. LOVE living here. Thx for the link.

I went out there to try it the other day. Unfortunately, they were closed (they don't open until 5). I ended up at The Independent and had the best roast beef sandwich of my life! And it was cheap too.

I do have to say, for all of the love Ulele gets, I absolutely hated it. The beer was terrible (they made the excuse that their new to brewing... But they're selling it, so it's hard to feel sympathetic). I talked my parents and girlfriend into going with me. My mom and I both had the Lucanica Salchica (sausage sandwich), my dad had the Apple Cider Pork sandwich, and I forgot what the girlfriend had. The sausage sandwich was ok. It tastes like something you'd be satisfied if you made it at home. It did not taste like something I'd spend $9. My dad ate half of his pork sandwich and when he was done, the rest of us tried it. I'm amazed that they would sell something that tasted THAT bad. It amazed me more that my dad was able to choke half of it down. The girlfriend seemed to be the only one who was satisfied with her meal. We left and went to Ybor for a while and ended up stopping by Tampa Bay Brewing Company for a decent beer and better food.

With that said, I'm amazed that Tampa Bay Brewing always misses these lists. Is it because they're listed as a "bar" over a restaurant? Honestly, it seems like the beer is almost secondary there. For anybody who hasn't checked out TBBC and would like to, walk in, be seated, then tell you waiter/waitress that you want a red eye ale and a "bomb burger." You're welcome!

To get to TBBC, simply go to Centro Ybor, and TBBC is directly under the movie theater. You can't miss the outdoor bar. The restaurant is just a few more steps.

I vote yes! for the Refinery. Best to get there early in the dinner service or take the chance that the days "specials" are gone. They buy fresh for the day and when entrees are gone they are gone. Just down the street is Ellas, another can't miss.
