Last week, I asked about the neighborhoods around my my company at 4200 Cypress. I know absolutely nothing about the Tampa area, so advice was valuable and appreciated. Turns out when I transfer from NYC, the job will be a work from home position, so the issue of commuting takes a back seat and I have some flexibility. I'm looking to rent and would even consider a room mate situation for a short time to get my feet wet. I have a decent income, but not looking to move into an upper income/gated community style place. Just something nice yet reasonable. So, the question now is what other areas should I look into. Wouldn't mind being closer to the beach.

Working from home gives you tremendous flexibility. Use realtor.com and look for rentals near beaches. Too bad you cannot specify "near beach" as a keyword.
