I am relocating to Tampa, and wondered if someone can recommend a pet friendly hotel/motel between Philly and Tampa to rest in midway through the drive for myself and my pets. Please let me know if you have anything in mind. Thanks!

Go to the La Quinta Inn website. They have an option to map your route and show you all the La Quintas that are available along your route. I always stay in this hotel with my pets. The rooms aren't bad, they are really reasonably priced, they have free wi-fi, parking, and complimentary breakfast. There is no charge for your pets at all! Many hotels will charge you an extra $20-50 per night for your pet!

I'm seconding La Quinta. Always nice and very pet friendly.

Fourth vote. We moved down here from the Philly area two years ago. I got to fly (needed to make settlement on the house). Everyone else drove with the cats/dogs. They stopped and stayed about halfway at a LaQuinta hotel.

We stayed at The Hampton Inn in Emporia, VA a couple of times on our drive between NJ and Tampa. It is not quite halfway distance wise but we found that with the traffic between NJ and DC, Emporia was almost halfway time wise.

Nothing against La Quinta, but we've long preferred Drury Inns. You can find them up and down the road near your halfway point. Pet friendly.
