Any healthcare workers out there that love the hospital/clinic they are working for? I will start to apply for jobs in April, hopefully to line up some interviews for our May visit. I'm on the clerical side of things. I work in a large central scheduling call center and work with insurance but also have experience as a medical secretary, health unit clerk and medical transcriptionist. Been looking online at Baycare facilities. Also interested in St. Pete area, All Childrens Hospital caught my eye. Any comments welcome.

I have worked for TGH (hated it!) My husband still works there (He enjoys his schedule, lets say that) I currently work for Baycare and I think they are great.

So happy people responded to my post! I have my eyes on both All Childrens and Baycare which is huge like the org I work for here in Wisconsin. Can I ask what you do at Baycare?

I am also looking to work at a nice hospital in the area. I currently work in the IT dept for a large hospital in NJ and would also like to know which are the best to work for in this area and do they take non local candidates? I would like to secure a job before moving if possible.

Thanks in advance for your responses!!

Baycare is private while TGH is public, so Baycare pays more. I'm an RN so it's hard to advise you. My friend at TGH says the ratios and acuity levels of patients are high, she's always stressed out and hates it. That could carry over to the unit secretary. My friend works in labor and delivery at Baycare and loves it, but L&D is pretty much a happy job in any hospital.
