Hello! We want to leave miserable PA and live on the gulf. Trying to decide on best place to finish raising family. We have four boys ages 8, 12, 15 and 17. So we need a really safe environment for them. We are looking for a small town with lots of places to walk, ride bikes and lots of outdoor/ nature activities. We want to be near beach or at least within 15 or 30 min from beach. We are also looking for a place where it isn't to hard to obtain employment. I know some areas in florida struggle with that. We will be renting before purchasing. Need someplace where housing is affordable as well.

You are describing Mayberry. That kind of atmosphere was widespread up to the 1960s, but it is now being phased out in favor of a new kind of America (less safe, more crowded, less wholesome, more expensive).
