"Tampa Police report increase in gun violence; urge public to come forward"
Tampa Police report increase in gun violence; urge public to come forward

In almost all cases it has to do with parents who don't seem to be very interested to supervise and/or be involved in their kids life. If you let kids hang outside at these young ages with troubled other kids what do they expect will come from that.

Overall parents who are involved in their kids life in a positive way, will not have to deal with things like this.

Hardly anyone is speaking up which means they are so scared or approve of what they may call to do the right thing and enable kids by keeping their mouth shut.

There are kids dying at the age of 14 because they are in places they shouldn't be and where are the parents to avoid their kids from attending parties like this.

Guns are not the issue.... the people holding them are!

Blame the "feminist" movement that sent moms to work instead of being home to PARENT, and then blame large greedy corporations for making laws to suit them not paying livable wages so moms don't have to work 3 jobs to pay for daycare and not be home to PARENT!

The availability of guns in THE ISSUE. Too bad people can't see that! It will take many more victims before someone will finally smarten up and understand that IF/when you make guns available, there will always be people using them. No one has used a gun to bake muffins you know? Guns hurt/kill no matter HOW they are used! For now, this will remain a political issue, and no business owner who wants to become a politician will touch it. You get what you give! Wondering/complaining/whining/randomly mentioning this won't EVER change anything.

With over 300 million guns in the United States You would think there would be more then 20K deaths a year if guns were the problem. What people fail to mention is that for the past 30 years over half the gun deaths every year are suicide! An over half of the remaining 50% are gang related. So unless you are depressed or hanging with gang bangers you have a better chance winning the lottery then being shot by a gun.

If that would be the case then explain the amount of shootings in The Netherlands where guns laws forbid the public of having them.

No gun stores over there either.

It seems the gun violence is related to certain types of people and areas....hands up didn't help either since that was proven to be a lie!

The fact is that birth day parties shouldn't end with a 14 year old dead and nobody willing to talk.

On the radio they stated that the police is aware the snitches end up with stitches and therefore a lot of people don't want to talk, but is a witness nowadays a snitch and what needs to happen for parents willing to stop their kids to die!

Maybe the police should start arresting those that threaten people with stitches under "witness intimidation" and then it will stop and people will start coming forward. Strengthen intimidation punishment and laws.

Just a thought.

The feminist might of gave them cover, but It still was a choice like most things in life.

As hard as this may seem to some people. Businesses do not create openings for work with your name on it. They create jobs with a certain compensation for the job. You as a person looking for the job decide if the compensation is worth the work. If the business can not find anyone qualified to do the job for the compensation listed they will either raise the compensation or eliminate the opening. If a business needs bodies to fill openings pay will increase (see North Dakota), That is what happens when we have a real growing economy.

Funny how we always see gun violence on the front page or leading in the news. Yet when a legally armed citizen kills an intruder in there own home or defends themselves with their legal gun it gets reported in the back of the newspaper if at all. Yet if a felon, with an illegal gun shots an innocent kid, we get front page news. Lets stop making excuses for "Evil" people.

This whole "mentality" of "solving problems with violence" is skewed & antiquated! Shows no evolvement as a society, lack of proper parenting, and just shows how degraded we have become as a society at large.

You have no argument as to "justifying" gun usage or ownership with me.

The sad thing is if we stopped all gun sales tomorrow there would still be enough floating around to keep the "bad" guys armed for tens of decades to come...
