I know there could be a wide variation due to specific location, credit score, deductible and contents coverage, but since I've heard that all insurance is higher in FL than in Ohio, I'm just wanting to get some ballpark figures.

How much liability coverage do you have? $100k, etc.

What's your deductible?

What company are you with?

Do you also have a car policy with them?

What is your monthly rate?

What city do you live in?

Thanks for your info!

We pay over $200 a year with $15,000 for contents and $1,500 for liability with a $500 deductable. And only certain insurance companies offer it. We had citizens but Florida has a open book policy and other insurance companies can snatch your policy. Southern oak took ours over. State farm dose not write renters insurance in Florida. Renters insurance is very expensive here. We are paying double than what we had in illionis abd for half the coverage. We live in Clearwater. Also you have to make sure that the insurance covers off site storage if you have to rent a storage locker. Ever since the last hurricane came through many insurance companies pulled out of Florida for homeowners and renters insurance. But they all offer auto for some hefty prices. Florida is a no fault state and you pay up the butt for auto insurance.

Is that a typo? $1500 for liability? Because here in Ohio, most apartment communities that require renter's insurance require minimum $100k liability. Usually offered is $100k, $300k, and $500k, since liability pays in case you set the building on fire or something.

The $100k policies here usually run around $250-350 a year.
