When looking to move to Florida from Ohio how do we apartment shop? We would need to come down and look at several all in one day. I know Trulia, Zillow etc. but do realtors ever set those appointments up?
Just unsure who to contact.

Thanks in advance!

Craigslist helps a lot and did you check hot pads?

Amy, I doubt a realtor would work with apartment rentals. No money to be made.

You first need to find a Realty Co that does that. Usually the bigger ones have that rental department in house. Yes, but realtors do it, this is how it usually works for you. Say they give you a list of 10 place to view and they will charge you a $ 100.00 ( they vary in price ), if can not find anything in that list you can get 75% of you money back or ask for another list. So you need to find a area to rent and use the business search on the main page and type in "realtor" and then a "city". It should give you a map of the realtors and contact numbers. This can be a challenge since most companies are in the sales part of realty but again they do is exist. I have never tried it but maybe you can put in " rental realtors " then "city". Have fun Florida a waits you.

When we were first looking to move down, we spent the day looking at apartment rentals as well as buying a house. The realtor does get something, but not just the amount they would on a sale.

You could also go to the complex itself if you have a good idea where you want to move to.

I'm currently using both these companies, 100% free. This is what they do, they fretboard by the complex for referrals and more if you sign a lease there.

The apartment complex itself gives you a tour. No need for a realtor.
