We had BH, DirecTV and now FiOS. FiOS is the winner hands down. Not even a contest.

Realizing not everyone wants all FiOS has to offer, they are now offering smaller packages for people looking for just certain things. This is a very recent change to their offerings.

I, being homebound, have loaded up.

Now don't forget Verizon is selling there FIOS to Frontier and BH is selling out to Charter so who knows what is going to happen when the new owners take over.

Let's not forget that AT&T bought Directv. It might get interesting if AT&T can pull it off. My Cali friends like the AT&T internet but as others said, there are connectivity problems with satellite TV here when the weather is bad.

Good example would be the purchase of AT&T services from Frontier!

When I had FIOS at the old house, I connected TV in a spare room directly to the coax and was able to get several channels via Clear QAM.

Brighthouse does the same thing:

What Is A QAM Tuner - Bright House Networks Support

However, I am told they are eventually going to encrypt these channels so everyone will need a box, cablecard, or a digital adapter.

Digital Adapter (DA)

Using Clear QAM requires a newer TV. You're out of luck with your old Sony Trinitron.
