We are talking about "Florida/Tampa"! Other states are irrelevant! No one wants to live in them!

Let me ask the first, important question: What classes are you planning on taking? Yes, HCC has campuses all over Hillsborough County, however, Dale Mabry is the hub and it had the majority of HCC's classes. Ybor and Brandon both only offer a percentage.

"I considered Gainesville but it might be too boring for me..."

Gainesville is FAR from boring. This is a HUGE college town with a happening downtown with great music scene and lots going on. Way more suited for a young guy than Boring Brandon and none of the shooting/fighting that you'll find late nights in Ybor. Just finished shopping for an apt there and found the rents are reasonable too; a $450 studio is easy to find or $525 for a 1BR in a student-filled private apt complex near campus. Plenty of low paying $8-9/hr jobs around too. While I personally like the Tampa Bay area better than Gainseville, if I was in my 20's and looking to go to school in Florida, I would give Gainesville a second look.

Yes Gainesville would be a great fit...Santa Fe College is right around there and $650 would be more doable for a single apartment but better yet go the room mate route and your budget will get you your own bedroom/bathroom with great amenities...all inclusive!!! You could literally live in Gainesville for years and not get to every restaurant, park, gym, bar or club...it's a young persons dream...only thing that's missing is the beach but that's just a day trip to the east coast...

I agree; Gainesville has a large residence population of full-time students. Brandon...not many full-time students, you might be a fish out of water.
