I will be moving to Tampa sometime this year and really would like an apartment or condo on the beach. I'm having a hard time searching for them because the only sites I get when I google are sites like apartments.com and nothing local. What is the market like for apartments by the beach? What are the prices like? I would appreicate any help on trying to find a really good apartment or condo in Tampa. I want to get a good solid list together before I come down to visit them.

Maybe someone will reply that lives by the beach, but my understanding (and what I can see in the MLS) is that most multi-family housing by the beach is condos. I'm sure you can find something to rent, just not apartments. Try searching for rentals on Move.com.
