Now i know about 25% of Tampa is hispanic, moslty puerto ricans, mexicans, and cubans. But i would like to know what neighborhoods would you mostly find the hispanic population, and do most hispanics share the same neighborhoods or mostly segregate themselves by nationality? And is there any significant number of any other hispanic nationalities?

Tampa was essentially built by Cubans in Ybor City. Once Ybor became a part of Tampa, Hugh MacFarlane tried to recreate the success of Ybor City in his new city, West Tampa. Those are two of the most Hispanic parts of Tampa.

All over. It's not really just one area.

West Tampa , west of Armenia. Lot of working class Cubans there, town and country, heavy concentration there. Mexicans and other central Americans are concentrated in rural places like Plant city, Ruskin. Puerto ricans in Brandon. Big Brazilian population in Carrolwood.

Of course everyone is everywhere and this is mostly
observational.

My grandparents were from Spain, and I grew up in old West Tampa. This area was and I believe still is dominated by Latinos. I want to say that as a Latina, I and all of my relatives despise the word "hispanic". Hispanic only refers to those Spanish speaking cultures. There were many Italians in my neighborhood as well. The term "Latino" covers all those who trace back to Latin.

Anyway, as Maniac above mentioned, old West Tampa and Ybor City were/are the main Latino neighborhoods, but these days they are all over the place, really.

Unlike most bigger cities, Tampa doesn't really have that many racially specific neighborhoods. Racial segregation when it comes to neighborhoods is very low here in Tampa - it's an anomaly. This is something that was actually discussed in a Sociology class of mine, how weird Tampa is when it comes to how diverse our neighborhoods are.

Yea, we all know how diverse sulphur springs, college park, west Tampa, Hyde park , palma ceia is. I am being sarcastic. I will give you that there are places that are diverse like carrolwood, Brandon. This is my observation middle to lower middle class neighborhoods are diverse, upper middle class and lower income are not.

Yes I like neighborhoods are mixed here and not so much racial tension where we cant live together peacefully and even in those gated communities some of them can be pretty diverse.

There's a huge percentage of hispanics in West Tampa and Town and Country / parts of Egypt Lake.

Not so much the racial tension.

It's not about racial diversity than it is about socioeconomic diversity. In the worst areas of town (Sulfur Springs, College Hill, Suitcase City), it's going to be more minorities, because it's the cheapest place to live, and by and large a lot of them are poor
