It's nothing. Why peeps get worked up over nothing for. The upper levels will never allow any good outflow for this system to get strong. The news will drag this out for days. We never get anything so move on and live life.

The media--especially local media--totally exaggerate this stuff out of proportion. It's a news story where they get to be the center of attention and they play it to the max.

Get a couple bottles of water and batteries. It will probably be a regular storm. Half of the time--the hysterical news media feeds the public hysteria and it is all a big waste of time and money. Home Depot does well though. Then the sun is out all day on the day of the 'hurricane.'

These storm tracks flip flop day by day or will trend to the east or west over a few days. This will be nothing.

Thanks to El Nino that weakens this storm and providing a lot of wind shear. By the time it is here, it would probably be just a lot of rain and just a tropical depression. That could still be a problem for many places as ground is still very wet.

This is my standard hurricane kit/plan:

A couple flashlights with extra batteries
A couple candles and matches
5 or 6 gallons of water
Snacks (chips, crackers, fruit cups)
Loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter
Fill up the vehicles with gas

We lose power every time we have a major storm and it sucks but we're used to it. We lost electricity for four days once and not have air conditioning was the worst part. We normally just ride it out and play board games by candlelight.

They were great when we needed them. I could not have asked for better service.
