I feel the same way about New Tampa area, thats why I chose South Tampa, close to downtown(Arena, Performing Arts, Theaters, Museums, Aquarium, etc.) mom and pop retail and restaurants, smaller town like neighborhoods and districts(South Westshore, South MacDill, Bay to Bay, SOHO/Hyde Park, Davis Islands, Bayshore)and excellent High School(Plant)

Wesley Chapel is best in Tampa. We researched so much.....Great area and great buys for homes on Buyowner in gated areas like Heatherstone...meadowpointe....great new homes .
THis area is a hidden treasure....Fantastic schools and the area is growing so now is the time to buy.
Only a 30 minute commute and great area to live for children

If you want rural....Maybe Manatee County would make more sense. I hear Bradenton is nice and the commute would be better I think. Otherwise, I agree with the New Tampa versus Old Tampa comments. Also, Brandon is an up and coming area that's more rural and they have mostly A schools.
