Lutz has several home school coops and hybrid home school programs. Carrollwood has at least one home school coop. I have also heard that Brandon has a significant home school population.

But to a mom looking for social interaction for her home schooled kids, it's probably a tough thing to find. Guess enrolling the kids in library programs, sports, other community programs is a good way to get them interacting.

They are every where. We had kids at our kids sports team who were home schooled and some like my kids took a few virtual school classes.

Default The reason why I'm asking

is because I want to open a music school near the greater concentration of home school children. I think they could benefit from general music classes, and piano classes which are, for all intents and purposes, non-existent. There are private instrument lesson studios, but classes in a group setting where kids sing, dance, play percussion instruments, world drums and xylophones with other kids. They would be able to participate in group piano classes also.

I'm no educator, but as someone who reads a lot of news, I can't blame parents for taking kids out of school and educating them on their own. I'm not sure schools are anything more than detention centers for a lot of teenagers. Some of the stuff going on in schools nowadays and the disrepect that students have toward their teachers or even worse, teachers having sexual relations with their students....makes you want to shake your head and wonder what the hell is going on with our country........if not home school, I sure as heck would look into a religious or private school where I knew that most of the students where there with only one purpose: to learn.
