I would like that spot alright. You could even park at South End of Downtown for cheap and walk to and from the game using Riverwalk.

How about a Retro Modern Park in Ybor with one of the Old Cigar Factories built into the outfield.. Kinda like Camden Yards?

LOL, got my Rays' partial season ticket renewal invoice today vs email.....not surprised that they'd post renewals right when MLB is at the peak with ChiCubs' win. Probably will get their best response right now after that exciting World Series.

The location for a new Rays stadium was announced today and it's right in Ybor City. An aerial map was shown with its location. What I found amazing was --- NO PARKING LOTS. Where do 30-40 thousand fans park their vehicles? Not having enough parking at Raymond James for a Bucs game is bad enough but zero parking?

Unless you want seats to cost $300 each, you can't get a stadium in the middle of Tampa with enough parking for everyone to drive in separately. They tried building a stadium in a convenient location, directly on the interstate, with parking for all. It was called Tropicana Field.

The new site is 14 acres, which means there will be upwards of 5 acres for parking (4.5 football fields). Plus, it's right in the city which means the lazy Tampa fans who wouldn't drive 20 minutes to the Trop will now get their wish and attend games via Uber, public transportation and their own two feet.
