Common sense. Thank you.

After watching this on the news, I am so glad my wife only has to drive to the airport and back once a week, and that she does it at off hours. I feel for all of you having to deal with this. I think I would be looking into how much vacation time I have available.

I caught an outbound flight this evening; 7:45p departure. I hit the hump of the bridge at 6:18p and got to the airport at 6:43p; so 25 minutes to go five miles.

Update on the progress and finally an admission they screwed up! The contractor and DOT originally blamed the delays on (stupid) drivers who couldn't adjust to the new traffic pattern, but instead now admit the new configuration is squeezing lanes and forcing vehicles in the right lane to yield or stop to allow merging vehicles. Another example of Brilliance at the Department of Transportation!
Oh how I wish I could sit in on these meetings - dollar for dollar probably the best entertainment around.

Weather could delay relief for I275 Backups.

Recent rains could delay relief for backups on I-275 stretch in Tampa | TBO.com and The Tampa Tribune

And yes, I am extremely upset I have an additional 1 1/2 hours of time added to my daily commute. I believe I have every right to rant. LOL

~~~~ SORRY! ~~~~~~~
Lived in Tampa since '77, all I can say is get use to it during rush hour's or buy a helicopter. Its always been bad, especially from the northwest area (TnC, Westchase, Odessa, Oldsmar) to and from the downtown area.
Its the main reason I moved to Lakeland. I can get to downtown Tampa quicker from Lakeland than you could from the above area's.
Every morning my commute consists of driving from Rocky Point to Bearss Ave on I-275 and every morning i can't help but feel bad for those that commute on I-275 south to downtown because it is ALWAYS backed up at the I-275/I-4 merge all the way to Bearss Ave, that's about 8 miles of traffic jam moving at about 5-10mph, i would be pulling my hair out and biting down all my fingernails if i had to deal with that everyday!
Just outta curiosity, is there anyone on here that makes that commute? I would like to know how long you have to sit in that each morning and how you deal with it
I'm still trying to figure out where in Tampa you are talking about. I've never heard of 287.
Westchase, Trinity, Carrollwood, Wesley Chapel, Odessa, Palm Harbor, Keystone, New Tampa and Lutz.
I chuckle when I think of their commute to Downtown Tampa.
