We live in St Pete now and are thinking of going to the race next month, but can't figure out where to watch it. These street courses can be a procession, which is boring. The grandstands on the front straight look unexciting too. I was considering the stands in the first corner at the end of the straight, or maybe in general admission somewhere, maybe Pioneer Park. Watched last year's race on youtube, and just couldn't get a good feel for where might be a good place to view it.

The way it's setup, it looks like you can't walk around too much to different areas for different looks if your first place doesn't work out, but I may be wrong. Would be great to hear from someone that has attended the race and see what they thought. Thanks.

its been a few years for me but I really enjoyed the general admission so we could walk around to the different areas and watch. there were plenty of areas to watch from with the general admission.

Unless they changed the lay out in the last 2-3 years, id go GA.

Edit:: I just looked at the track map for this year and it looks the same, we enjoyed the most right at turn 4-5 area.

Well that's perfect, as the general admission prices are really, really cheap. Thanks. Hopefully they still have a Free Friday, and maybe we can walk around the track areas and get a look at where to watch.
