Comments on what life is like there would be appreciated. How's the boating? Proximity to beach (Pass-a-Grille, etc.), bars & restaurants on St. Pete Beach, downtown St. Petersburg, etc.

Seems like a quiet place, which has its plusses and minuses.

The biking down into Fort Desoto looks great though. Fishing in that area also looks like it might be great, but would like to know from the locals.

Thank you.

I live in Tierra Verde. It's very quiet and safe, although we do seem to have a high number of vehicle thefts lately.

Fort De Soto is wonderful, of course. Fishing is good, especially if you can do it by boat. This is a boating community; probably half the homes are waterfront and there's a marina for those who aren't.

People living in the condos tend to be older/retired. Those who live in the single family homes tend to be younger. In the last few years a lot of families with young kids have moved in, especially on Entrada, Monte Cristo, and Sands Point.

We usually go to Saint Pete Beach for bars and restaurants. It's a five minute drive. Pass A Grille is a few minutes more. I can get from my driveway to the center of downtown St. Pete in 15 to 20 minutes taking the highway.

Beaches are a short drive... Fort De Soto, St. Pete Beach, Pass A Grille, all of them are gorgeous.

One of the downsides is how long it can take to get on and off the island during tourist season. Only one way on and off. Fortunately I'm usually able to time driving for times when traffic is lighter, since I work from home. And it's only an issue for a couple months out of the year.
