I believe this is your most well made location based vid in Tampa yet, the way the camera angles are, and the way it jumps around to different things. The montage thing captures it well. Well done. I'm planning on hitting up The Refinery, Into the Woods at Straz, and the Christmas Village this weekend.

Thank you. I've been working on different aspects.

Don't forget, tonight is Tampa's Christmas Tree Lighting (6 pm, Curtis Hixon) and tomorrow they're doing a Christmas parade (I believe Curtis Hixon, 12-5). Perfect events for the family.

I was just thinking about an addition to this post. Tampa is nice and all, but if you're like me, then this inescapable world will sometimes hit you: Wanderlust. I have had it a lot lately, and have been itching to take a weekend trip somewhere, anywhere. Unfortunately, I also have had a busy past few months that has prevented me from taking any of these trips, but here's hoping I'll get on one soon. Below, I have ten weekend trips of places you wouldn't believe are within weekend distance of Tampa, both "more ambitious" (<6 hrs. each way), and "less ambitious" (<3 hrs. each way), with Google Street Pics displayed for both. It's easy to feel like Florida is far down and it's hard to get anywhere different, but it's better to not make excuses and get out there.

More Ambitious:
1. Most of the Keys (Key West is a bit over, but even it is doable):
Bahia Honda State Park (OG Dr. Beach pick): https://www.google.com/maps/@24.6557...8i4864!6m1!1e1
The "Diving Capital of the World", John Pennekamp State Park, is at the top of the Keys and about 4.5 hrs.

2. Southwest Georgia: (Boiled Peanuts, but not just that):
Jimmy Carter NHS (Closest official POTUS site to us. The man even teaches Sunday school at the church there and stays around to take pictures and sign autographs. Bucket list stuff right there.)
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ji...925979!6m1!1e1
Providence Canyon State Park (Hooray for poor 19th century agricultural processes!)
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.0688...8i2000!6m1!1e1

3. Atlanta: (Slightly over 6 hrs., but who's counting?)
Stone Mountain Park
https://www.google.com/maps/@33.8037...8i4352!6m1!1e1

Marriott Marquis (Downtown)
https://www.google.com/maps/@33.7614...8i3840!6m1!1e1

Ocmulgee National Monument (in Macon, and HIGHLY WORTHWHILE. Definitely closer than ATL, less fast paced, and has a highly popular Cherry Blossom Festival in March. Also probably the furthest south you'll find fall colors, and at least some trace of snow at some point each winter (start of the Piedmont)
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Oc...037469!6m1!1e1

4. Savannah (one of America's most historic cities)

Ranked Somewhere as America's Most Beautiful Street:
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.0731...7i13312!8i6656

Wormsloe SHS:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Wo...069239!6m1!1e1

Notebook-esque Cypress Swamp:
http://www.canoekayak.com/wp-content...-and-Kayak.jpg

5 The Panhandle:

Florida State Capitol: There are tours, and you can attend sessions and even communicate about changes wanted:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Fl...828542!6m1!1e1

Apalachicola: From what I've heard, one of the more unique and isolated towns anywhere in the US.
https://www.google.com/maps/@29.7273...8i6656!6m1!1e1

Florida Caverns: Only tourable caverns in our state.
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Fl....24201!6m1!1e1

Less Ambitious:

1. Miami/SoFla (more than 3 hours, but for all it offers (READ: Mostly the food), it's worthwhile)

Skyline:
https://www.google.com/maps/@25.7643...8i2048!6m1!1e1

Worth Ave:
https://www.google.com/maps/@26.7008...7i13312!8i6656

Blowing Rocks (something a little more unique):
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Bl...844465!6m1!1e1

2. St. Augustine (not quite as much charm or stuff to see as Savannah, but still very nice)

https://www.google.com/maps/@29.8912...7i13312!8i6656

https://www.google.com/maps/@29.8927...8i4096!6m1!1e1

The beautiful St. John's River Views and Ravine Gardens State Park make Palatka a worthwhile pit stop on the way up.
https://www.google.com/maps/@29.6468...7i13312!8i6656

3. Gainesville (surprisingly cultured/inviting town, from brief glance)
https://www.google.com/maps/@29.6496...7i13312!8i6656
Paynes Prairie
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Pa...949791!6m1!1e1
Devil's Den
https://www.google.com/maps/place/DE...760228!6m1!1e1

4. Southwest Florida
Corkscrew Swamp
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Co...041081!6m1!1e1
Bowman's Beach, Sanibel
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Bo...156506!6m1!1e1
DT Fort Myers:
https://www.google.com/maps/@26.6440...7i13312!8i6656
5. Orlando/Central Fla:
Downtown:

CityWalk:

25 New Things For 2017 to add to the list:
1. Tampa Bay Rowdies Soccer Game (Future MLS squad?)
2. Cigar City Brewing Tour (Area's largest, and state's most renowned craft brewery)
3. Hiking at Withlacoochee State Forest (esp. the Dame's Cave section)
4. Firestone Grand Prix of Saint Petersburg (esp. from a rooftop?)
5. Tabanero Cigar Factory Tour (big part of city's foundation, not sure if interesting/worthwhile for non smokers also, as I haven't yet been)
6. Ybor City Ghost Tour (Apparently the #1 rated ghost tour nationally, according to some sources. Says it's family friendly, and if nothing else, good chance to look at architecture of area with guided group)
7. Cross-Bay Ferry (About the same as a scenic boat tour, but more utilitarian in purpose. Nice for taking a cruise without actually committing to a longer one)
8. Lido Key Mangrove Tunnel Tour (by kayak)
9. Lettuce Lake Regional Park (Cool looking park near Tampa)
10. Full Length of the Tampa Riverwalk (Quite expansive now and lots to see on way)
11. Tampa Bay History Center (I haven't personally been, so I'm making this a list for me this year, too)
12. Glazer Children's Museum (Lower on my priority list since I don't have kids, but a good option for those that do)
13. Sanwa Farmer’s Market (I've heard it is very, very large and unique)
14. Scenic Drive: Golfview/Hyde Park (Or just Google Streetview it: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Go...m1!1e3!6m1!1e1)
15. Try TopGolf (It's a cool concept, supposedly even cooler at night)
16. Van Fleet State Trail (In Lakeland, quietest paved path near Tampa I believe, also covered in shade I believe)
17. Pom Pom’s Tea House(Thanksgiving Sandwich. Accept no substitutes.)
18. Bavaro’s (Any Pizza, really. Neapolitan Pizza is worth trying for anyone who hasn't)
19. Hawker’s Asian Street Fare (8$-12) Asian with a venue and quality that makes it seem like it should cost ($20-30)
20. The Lights of Lake Park Estates (December. Get there right at 6 or a bit before to avoid traffic)
21. Watch the PGA Tour, or find a way to get on at Innisbrook Golf Resort (Not sure if it's private)
22. Lakeland D-League Team TBD (You can decide it's name! Vote here. Lakeland is making moves lately.) https://omagic.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe...7DZQ6deLLm7U2x
23. Drive on 41, 676 and surrounding roads near DT to appreciate industrial side of TB economy
24. Eat and see a movie at CineBistro (More expensive than usual, but a cool concept. Great for dates especially)
25. Embrace weather extremes. Spend a good portion of a day outside (with shade/water, of course) when heat index is at or near 120. Read a book, hammock, etc. Likewise for a good portion of an evening in the winter where it crawls into the 40s, or even the 30s (bundled up, and with hot chocolate/coffee, of course). As humans, even if we don't like the weather, it's somewhat healthy to know you can manage in it without being cooped up in A/C. I know this sounds quirky, but even getting caught in a driving summer monsoon without anything can cleanse the mind and soul a little bit.

2017 Update. Sorry the list isn't more diverse, I know my inner sports fan is showing.. Lol. I'll probably come up with another grouping in like 6 months or so, though it was difficult remembering if there were any I already listed. Happy 2017!

Another place that could be put on the list that's not in Tampa but he is from Tampa is Don't Garlits Museum in Ocala Big Daddy Don Garlits Museum Of Drag Racing, Ocala, Florida
Its a pretty cool place if you like old cars.
And Silver Spring's w/ the glass bottom boat ride's is 10 minute's down the street, beautiful place and is also where they filmed the original Tarzan movie's. You can still see a lot of monkeys that got loose during filming, multiplied and running wild still. www.silversprings.com

Tampa Riverwalk, you ask? This will (hopefully) be an entire series with various important figures discussing how their vision helped build the Riverwalk. This is part 1.

Sorry for some of the shots coming out... Crappy. I bought a new camera and am trying to learn how to use it.
