Seniors aren't very likely to text and drive. Seems that whenever I see some mind boggling maneuver, it's a young driver with a device in his/her hand. My favorite was a lone driver who swerved into our lane while attempting to take a picture of the sunset while she drove.

I had to retake the written test once, and now have shorter driving period, yet doubt if a driving test will be mandatory. This would be different if one had several accidents, or many infractions.

Older seniors like me do not really know what texting is? I get the basic concept, yet never did it, or even seen it.

Yes, what about that? Few may know this, but when I began driving, one had to know the hand signals and use them when driving, even if you had turn signals. If one drove too close to see the hand signals, one received a ticket. Now if one leave that much space, someone tries to enter it, just to get one car length ahead.

Most drivers are discourteous and don't even think to use turn signals to change lanes or to change directions. They may think "Why bother? No one signals."

Be special. Use your turn signals. Always. It's a safety habit.

I'm not going to trust a turn signal anyway. I've seen cars travel for miles and mile with their turn signal on, oblivious to the fact that it's on.
