With my Connecticut Yankee Frugality deeply ingrained, my motto is to never, ever pay retail (full price). So I have been seeking out the Thrift Shops in the area.
Good Will- the first one I visited was in Oldsmar, on Tampa Rd., really, really nice. Clean. The sizes are actually in order! Great staff too. The newest Good Will (called "Release Center?) just north of East Bay on the 19 Frontage Rd is just as nice.
However, I would warn y'all off of the one on Missouri Ave in Largo (sketchy neighborhood, sizes are all intermingled and limited) and the one on Gandy Blvd. in St Pete (the clothing is also disarrayed, HOWEVER the household goods in the back are quite nice).
I was very underwhelmed with the Salvation Army Family store on 66th St, and dismayed by the PARC shop beside it - I have seen better and cleaner items at garage sales!
Plato's Closet (which is more consignment than thrift) was a surprise in Palm Harbor. It appears to be THE go to place for scantily clad young thangs looking for club clothing for everyday wear...
Keswick's on Seminole Blvd (south of Park Blvd) is great for a small location. I have heard good things about TJ's farther up near 102nd but not made it there yet.
So, what are your raves and rants on Pinellas Thriftiness?
