We had a person from "Budget" Blinds come to our house and give us a quote. For two 6 feet by 3 feet windows wooden (mahogany) shutters $1422. I though that was crazy expensive, so much for being "budget" . The guy mentioned that if we buy a white composite material in place the wood we could knock $600 down. But we don't want white shutters.

Any idea?

A family member ordered these online:

https://www.blindster.com/shutters/faux-wood-shutters/

They're happy and said they were easy to install. I am giving them a serious look because our blinds are starting to look kinda beat.

We took ours out and gave them to our neighbor. They cut down so much on the light. You may want to see if you can find some that people are selling or giving away, then have a handyman install them. Would save a bundle.
