I don't fly Southwest either. But I've never seen a fare that low on Southwest to Vegas from TPA. Usually those nonstops are more expensive than the legacy airlines with their 1 stop routes.

I just went to the Southwest website: TPA-LAS, Nov. 18-22 (includes a Saturday night), fare is $569.96. Delta's fare for same dates: $380, but it's not a nonstop. By the way the holidays are usually a dead time in Vegas. I was there last year on Thanksgiving and Xmas week and it was DEAD. Not high season by any means.

Regarding Chicago, yeah, it's not on any top world destination list that I know of, unlike NYC and San Fran.

No, they don't. Please at least get your facts straight. Remember when you thought Tampa was bigger than Houston?

Tampa's city population ranks 53rd in the US. Sounds like Tampa's airport is perfectly adequate for the size of the city. Maybe back up your argument with some logic?

I think if you look at the Tampa BAY, MSA, it's quite large.

Again, saying TPA sucks is waaay overstatement, and quite unfair. Try living and flying out of places like Memphis...lol. Little Rock, Greeneville-Spar, Birmingham, and a ton of other southern or smaller midwestern cities, like DM

I would never live in any of those places. Like I said and like the Tampa airport board says: The lack of international nonstops at TIA is a problem that must be remedied.

Tampa is decent sized (as a Metro), no doubt, but it wouldn't even have some of the flights it does if it weren't in Florida. Some just have no idea what they are complaining about I guess. It's easy to say Tampa should have flights to so-and-so, but at least present facts/logic. Airline routes aren't made from fantasies.

Please explain. How is it a problem? You have yet to post anything concrete.

The Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia, NC-SC Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is defined as seven counties in North Carolina and three counties in South Carolina. The population of the MSA was 2,426,363 according to 2015 Census estimates.

As of 2014, Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater Metro Area's population is 2,793,814 people. Although The Wash Post puts it closer to 4 million.

Re-read the thread and how TIA's own top brass think the lack of international routes is a problem that is at the top of their priority list (adding routes, which of course lowers fares).
