Hi everyone – I’m moving down to the Tampa/St. Pete area in September, so I’m currently trying to compile a list of companies in the area I would like to pursue for a job. Right now, I’m in marketing research and I would like to stay in the general marketing field. I also have experience working as an inventory analyst in the food industry. Can you all help me with some names of companies I should research for marketing/inventory analyst jobs? Publix would be a great fit because of my background, but I know that’s a ways away in Lakeland. Thanks in advance for your help.

Publix would indeed be great for you. We live in Lakeland and my hubby commutes to downtown Tampa - it takes him about 40 minutes of a very pleasant drive with no gridlock on the highways most days from this area. If you have to live in Tampa for some reason the commute is doable. There are also many large companies and distribution centers based in the Lakeland area, so you might want to check it out.

Sounds good, thanks for the advice. Anyone else have some suggestions?

Hey athorson710 -

My partner and I are looking to relocate to the Tampa area as well from Minneapolis... Below is some information I got from the local AIGA group - I know its more design related but where there is a designer there is a marketing person! We usually go hand in hand. Hope this helps a bit...

The Tampa Graphic Design Meetup Group (there is a forum to start discussions on any topic and you may get some valuable insight to owning a design business in Tampa from the members).

Smile Hi, where are you

experience wise? I saw your thread about headhunters so you can go to my reply to Tampa Karen on that thread. I may be wrong but this post sounds as if you are fairly new to the working world. If so, you need some real experience and rep to have a head hunter look for you and they will if you're good. Meanwhile, you need an employment agency or the direct approach which you seem to have started here. Since you want to do market analysis I suggest you begin right here, right now and figure out how to find the info you've requested. Goodness! I'm old and I understand search engines and computer research. Should be a snap for a young'un like you
Much success.
