I would like to know the pros and cons of moving to the Carrollwood area in Tampa?

Also any info on Northdale, Citrus Park and Westchase areas would be appreciated!

Would like prefer gated community, low crime non gang areas.

Thank you!

All those areas are great places to live. You can't go wrong really with any of them, just depends on what you can afford and how close would be a commute to your work or how bad you want it to be in a gated community

The good thing about Carrollwood/Northdale/Citrus Park areas is that you are close to downtown, beaches and the airport. Homes that go on the market there go quickly because it is a desirable area of town. There are a few new home construction in the area but pricier than other parts of town. Value remains strong in that area. Westchase is beautiful as well. Are you looking for more of a single family home or townhome? In most parts of Carrollwood, the homes are spaced out to where you have room between houses... Not all of Carrollwood but a good amount.

Other than Original Carrollwood, most areas around are starting to turn into areas similar to south of Waters Ave. You see more homeless walking around Dale Mabry, Fletcher, Bearss and Elrich. You see things like people selling bottled waters by the Target with signs that they have no job. You are starting to see more graffiti in the Northdale area. You see private security guards by the Chevron inside Carrollwood Village, patrolling the area.

This is how it started in Town N Country 15-20 years ago, and its moving north. There are nice homes and neighborhoods in the area, but all around is desintegrating.

Carrollwood has overall a high demand and low supply and home values are overall very stable as this area is very desirable in zip codes 33618 and 33624.

You might wanna consider the Forest Hills area thats next to the Carollwood area as well. Its an older neighborhood than Carollwood is but there are a few newer, smaller, gated communities that are very nice.
Its also a great location IMO.

You are quite literally on the complete opposite side of the city from Downtown, much less beaches. You would be close to the airport though.
